week of fasting and prayer
Starting on Sunday January 26, LifeWord will have a week of fasting and prayer. We do this every year at the beginning of the year, to pray for the church, our country and also our own prayer points.
how does it work?
When we completely focus our attention on God, it is easier to understand what He is saying. God gives power to our prayers (James 5:16b). That’s why we chose to abstain from food or other activities, so that we can spend more time in prayer.
prayer and fasting explained
When you decide to join in the fast, you are free to decide how you’re going to participate. It can be a complete fast (only drinking water), or partial fast, or fasting from something other than food. In this PDF, ‘Prayer and fasting explained’ you can read all about it.
