About Pastor KelvinMy name is Kelvin Onyema and always next to me is my wife Ria. We are so glad you are visiting our website. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you. I was born in Nigeria and raised into a Roman catholic home. Going to church was an obligation and not based on a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.
Coming to The Netherlands In 1989 I came to Holland with the intention of playing professional soccer. But I could not get a contract after training with a few professional soccer clubs. I decided to go back to school and studied electrical control technology and specialized myself in indoor climate control technology, after which I have worked as an engineer in several companies. |
God's Calling |
All my life, before my encounter with Jesus, I knew there was something about me that I could not explain. I noticed that wherever I go, my presence changes the atmosphere. People around me cannot stay depressed. When I come they lighten up. God's pull in my life became very strong in the year 2001. I could no more resist such a powerful call from God and I finally dedicated my life to Him. Since that time, my wife and I have developed tremendously in the knowledge of the Word and a great revelation of Gods purpose and plan for His Church and Kingdom.

I have a passion for seeing lives changed through the sound teaching of the pure Word of God. With humor and enthousiasm, I believe that change begins from the inside. I also have strong passion for leadership. I have ministered in many churches and seminars in the Netherlands and travelled to several countries teaching in conferences, seminars and crusades. The countries I have travelled to are the United States, United Kingdom, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Spain, South Africa, Belgium and Nigeria.
I have been pastoring Lifeword Christian Center since 2005 together with my wife Ria, the eldership and the pastoral team of Lifeword. These people have been a great enrichment to me as a person and to the church in general. I am privileged to pastor LifeWord Christian Center, an intercultural church of many colors in Utrecht (The Netherlands) with more than 18 nationalities. In 2009 I wrote my first book titled ‘Discovering the Hidden Treasure in You’. The second book was written in 2014 titled ‘Who Am I’. I encourage everybody to read these books. I promise it will change your life! In 2011 I was honored with an Uchimura Kanzo award, with a honorary doctorate h.c. of divinity from 'Foundation University' in Amsterdam. I also hold a bachelors degree in Christian studies from the 'Sure Foundation Theological Institute' in Florida, USA. Family I am married to Ria. Together we have two wonderful and lovely daughters, Charlene and Dyonne and two grandchildren. |
